I was born and raised in San Diego where I attended Rancho Buena Vista High School. Throughout high school, I played water polo, baseball, and tennis and was also a member of ASB and the Surf Team. I attended college at the University of California, Santa Barbara where I received my BA in Communication, with a focus on Education. After attending UCSB, I moved with my wife to the South Bay and began my teaching credential program. I was excited to do my student teaching in PVPUSD and have remained in the district ever since. I then received Masters Degrees in Special Education and Educational Administration at CA State University, Dominguez Hills. Currently, I am attending USC in the Rossier School of Education Doctoral Program for K-12 School Leadership with anticipated graduation of May, 2018.
This school year marks my 7th year in PVPUSD and my 2nd year as Associate Principal. Prior to this, I worked at PV High and Point Vicente Elementary as a Special Education Teacher and Varsity Tennis Coach. In addition to education, I have worked as a CA State Lifeguard and Jr. Guard Instructor for the past 15 years.
I truly believe that every child is one caring adult away from success. High school is not only a time for exploring interests and preparing for college & career, but also for having fun. I am extremely honored to be a member of the Sea King family and look forward to a fun and productive year!
