A graduate of Biola University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education, I have been trained as a creative teacher, educated in developmental and counseling theories, and skilled in programming and leadership. As a leader and pastor in youth ministry, I refined my abilities as a teacher, gained valuable experience understanding the needs of students, and led a team of adult leaders. My experience as a substitute teacher and Sylvan instructor, allowed for the acquisition of skills in classroom management and individualized instruction. I gained further appreciation for the special needs of students, applying academic and behavioral supports as a one-to-one aide for a child with autism. After enrolling in the Los Angeles Unified School District Intern Program, I earned my Clear Level II Education Specialist credential; gaining effective, practical experience creating a classroom environment that promoted student success, implementing differentiated instructional strategies, and scaffolding curricular content for diverse learners. I have completed my Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction at California State University, Long Beach furthering my instructional expertise, as well as gaining an understanding in best practices for creating curriculum that educates the whole student. Finally, I have earned a Preliminary Educational Administration Credential to further my growth as an educational leader. I'm excited to be joining the Sea King family, to continue the pursuit of academic excellence, student health and wellness, rich athletic traditions, and technological ingenuity. Go Sea Kings!
