Students must come to the CCC to attend college rep visits that are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays DURING PERIODS 1 - 6. On these days, students are not permitted to join via ZOOM without special arrangements made with Mrs. Lewis at least 2 days prior to the event.
This year Mrs. Lewis organized a new series of college info sessions with a twist!
The "Conversations with Your Admission Rep" series of presentations are scheduled from 8:15am - 9:00am on LATE START WEDNESDAYS and all participants will join these events via ZOOM from home prior to arrival for 1st period. If you have a Zero Pd. class and would like to attend a "Conversations with Your Admission Rep" event, you must request permission from your Zero Pd. teacher to arrive late.
The institutions confirmed for our "Conversations" series are some of the most applied to colleges by our Sea Kings, so in order to ensure the health and safety of our students, we felt it best to schedule these virtual events when most students in all grades were available to attend. These events are intended for students, therefore we ask that if parents are online with the student, please be respectful and allow the students to engage in discussion. Thanks!
Once you've registered for an event and find that you cannot attend, please CANCEL your attendance in advance via SchooLinks. SchooLinks provides reminders to you and that is your opportunity to confirm your availability and if the visit continues to fit in your schedule. We are privileged to have so many schools that wish to visit with us, so let's reciprocate by honoring their time with your courteous and engaged participation in their virtual info sessions.
Instructions on how to request teacher permission to attend virtual visits in the PVHSCCC
TEACHER PERMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
In order to attend any College Rep Visit during class time, you must request teacher permission to be excused from class for each 1/2hr visit. The PERMISSION SLIP must be signed by your teacher 48 hours prior to the event and turned in no later than 24 hours prior to the event. If you do not have a class scheduled, you MUST complete the teacher permission request form and turn it in (without a teacher signature) so the information can be verified prior to your arrival. NO STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND A COLLEGE VISIT IN THE CCC WITHOUT A SIGNED TEACHER PERMISSION SLIP.
In order to request permission you MUST:
1) Be a Junior or Senior
2) Have registered for the event on SchooLinks
3) Make a separate request for each Rep Visit you would like to attend
4) If you have no class during a period, please note "no class scheduled" - this will be verified prior to the event
If you do not have a teacher permission form your attendance will not be cleared. Please know that class time is the priority and if you are not able to make the event I will provide the reps information to you for follow up and they are always happy to communicate with you individually.
All students must sign in when they attend the Rep Visit and attendance is taken at each visit based on teacher permission slips provided. Teachers and the Attendance office will be notified of your attendance by the end of the school day the rep visit is scheduled. If you don't attend a meeting you MUST be in class unless you are out ill.
