Direct admissions is an evolving practice where colleges proactively offer admission to students, often before they've even applied. This approach, once considered unusual, has expanded significantly in recent years, with numerous state university systems
and private colleges adopting it!
The Common App has also launched a direct admissions program, with 116 partner institutions for the 2024-25 application cycle, up from 71 the previous year.
This growth suggests that direct admissions is becoming an increasingly significant part of the college admissions landscape. It's clear that this approach is changing the college admissions landscape, especially when it comes to investigating great "likely"
and target schools that students might consider while building their college list.
