The State Seal of Civic Engagement (SSCE) is awarded to California students who demonstrate excellence in civics education and participation, and an understanding of the United States Constitution, the California Constitution, and the democratic system of government.
 
Students interested in the SSCE need to complete the application and return it with supporting documentation to their high school's counseling office by the due date (annually in the spring).
