Sophomore Parent Presentation: The Sophomore Parent Webinar will be held on February 15, 2023 at 8:30am and 5:00pm (only attend one). The presentation will cover a variety of information regarding college admission, graduation requirements, college admission testing updates, SchooLinks, and college research tools. Sophomore Counseling Appointments: Individual Sophomore Counseling Appointments will take place from February 16-March 24, 2023. At the appointment, sophomores and their parent/guardian(s) will have an opportunity to meet with their child's counselor to review course planning for Junior and Senior years, discuss post-secondary options, and finalize course requests for Junior year. Juniors
The Junior Parent Presentation will held on February 23, 2023 at 6:00pm.
The purpose of this presentation is to review graduation requirements, college admissions information, latest testing information in light of COVID , and the letter of recommendation procedures. Counselors will discuss the importance of finding an appropriate college match for the student and topics to consider when developing a college list. An introduction to SchooLinks as a college research tool is reviewed. Counselors will discuss in depth the college application process, including types of admission options, eligibility index vs. committee selection, and parts of the application folder. Finally, counselors will also briefly cover other program information such as NCAA requirements, essays and personal statements, and the importance of college visits.
Seniors
The Senior Parent Presentation was on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Topics covered include the college application process, COVID-19, admissions testing, letters of recommendation, and more. Please reference the powerpoint below. Additionally, please utilize the Senior Conference Parent Checklist below as a resource to assist your student with their college applications.
