Freshmen Parent Presentation: The Freshmen Parent Presentation is on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 9:00am via Webinar and 6:00pm in-person in the PVHS MPR. Topics covered include academic requirements and building an academic resume in high school, the shift to high school, upcoming Freshmen Guidance Lessons, and a glance into the next four years. Counselors will share how to support your high school students. 

 

 

 

Sophomore Parent Presentation: The Sophomore Parent Presentation will be held on February 6, 2025 at 9:00am in the PVHS MPR and 6:00pm via Webinar (only attend one). The presentation will cover information pertaining to graduation requirements, college entrance eligibility, post-secondary options and planning, goal setting, and understanding the Sophomore Counseling program.

 

Sophomore Counseling Appointments: Individual Sophomore Counseling Appointments will take place from February 10-March 14, 2025. At the appointment, sophomores and their parent/guardian(s) will have an opportunity to meet with their child's counselor to review course planning for Junior and Senior years, discuss post-secondary options, discuss other items specific to the student's short and long term goals. The ability to book an appointment with your counselor is available after the evening presentation and Google Calendar links were sent out via Constant Contact. The Part 1 presentation gives an overview of the research process for post-secondary planning. It begins the conversation between families about the student's goals after high school and how to identify next steps. Counselors will review what postsecondary paths are available, how to begin researching schools, an introduction to two- and four-year schools, as well as college admissions testing information. The Senior Parent Presentation is on Tuesday, September 10 at 9am via Webinar and 6pm in the PVHS MPR (only need to attend one). Topics covered include the college application process, admissions testing, letters of recommendation, and more. Please reference the presentation below. Additionally, please utilize the Senior Conference Parent Checklist below as a resource to assist your student with their four-year college applications.
