Come to the library at lunch all week to see Sea Kings compete in the 2nd annual PVHS Chess Tournament. Competition begins on Monday, May 20. Finals will be Wednesday, May 29th!
Directions for parents:
- There will be no afternoon class.
- Gates for pickup are open.
- PV Transit is present to provide transportation

12:38 pm : The Palos Verdes High School lockdown has been lifted. Police remain on campus to ensure student safety. All students and staff are safe. Afternoon classes have been cancelled for the rest of the day.
12:24 pm: Update PVE Police: School is still on lockdown. Officers checking the campus. No further developments. Avoid the area until further directions are given.
11:14 am: PVHS is currently on lockdown as a precautionary measure due to a phone threat. Students and staff are safe and police are on campus.
Students should read both the school-wide reading book, Just Mercy (Young Adult adaptation) and their grade-level specific book by the first day of school. The summer reading assignment (all grade levels) will be collected the first day of school. English classes will use these two books for class discussions, writing assessments, and reading comprehension tests at the beginning of the year.
