Congratulations to 2018 PVHS alumna Rey Gundlach for being honored as an Individual Award Finalist for the National Student Press Organization for Cartoon Of The Year. Winners will be announced November 3 at the JEA Fall National Convention. Rey did the foldout cartoon on a day in the life of Palos Verdes High School for the 2018 Triton Yearbook. It was called “It Comes & It Goes.”

On September 18 two manila envelopes arrived with two awards from the American Scholastic Press Association for the Triton Yearbook “It comes in WAVES” publication. These awards were given by judges who bestowed points based on strict criteria in the areas of design, concept, photography, writing and structure. Our score was 975 out of 100 possible points - a publication record. Congratulations to the Triton staff and leaders and to Ms. Pavelka adviser.
The theme for 2018-19 is "Heroes Around Me". Submission are due October 22, 2018.
