Eight Triton Yearbook leaders ventured to the JEA/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism Convention with Dr. Tyner and Ms. Pavelka. Student photojournalists explored the monuments on bikes, created a television broadcast news show at Maryland School of Journalism, met with the Washington Post plant supervisor, listened to Pulitzer Prize winning journalists and experienced the Newseum before it closes next year. Yearbook writers and photographers will compete in National Media Contests tomorrow, hone skills in writing and design workshops and visit universities on Saturday.
The team was proud to meet with alumnas Rose Hayden (‘14) who graduated Georgetown University and is completing her first year at Georgetown Law School and Rachel Paik (‘19) who is attending George Washington University. We are proud to represent Palos Verdes High School at this journalism event with over 6,000 students in attendance. Go Sea Kings!
