On Friday, March 17, Triton Yearbook Adviser Susan Pavelka received the Columbia Silver Crown Award in New York City from Director of Columbia Scholastic Press Association Edmund Sullivan. Crown Awards are the highest recognition given by the CSPA to a student print or digital medium for overall excellence. This award was given to the staff for the "between the red & black" 2016 Triton Yearbook publication. Ms. Pavelka was proud to gather the award serving again this year as a speaker during the spring student journalism convention, "Over the past ten years, I have watched the Triton staff grow through exposure to national competitions and by adhering to a daily tradition of excellence. This award represents the culmination of diligence, creativity and tenacity on the part of the Triton Yearbook staff and leaders."
