Video Production 2 Students & Parents -

Thank you for working with your classes during this time away. Our Words Project was due this morning - I see some students haven't had a chance to turn in. If you're still working on the Words Project, please turn in as soon as possible.

The next and last assignment will be based on broadcast journalism. With the help of PBS Newshour Student Reporting Labs, you will find your next assignment here:

Assignment #2

You may choose either Path #1 or Path #2. There are step-by-step guidelines on completing the assignments. However, it is not necessary to do all the pre-production steps. Please pick what will help you prepare and complete the assignment.

Path #1, requires little to no editing. I understand some students do not have access to editing software, which is completely understandable. Please choose this option if editing is a problem.

Path #2, Video 2 can handle this. Of course, things will need to be modified based on our current situation, however, it would be great to see students attempt this option. The pre-production steps are awesome and will really help students tell their story. You will need editing software to complete this assignment. I do not recommend editing on a cell phone or iPad, unless you have purchased software/app. This is best done on a desktop/laptop computer. We use Final Cut Pro in class, which can be purchased/download from the Apple Store. This is not necessary. Please do Path #1, if you do not have editing software.

In the Turn In folder, please turn in your final video by Friday, March 27, 3pm in the folder called: PBS News Package. This will be the last assignment before Spring Break.

In Video Production 2 we were finishing up our Words Project. We use Google Drive, which all Video Production 2 students have access.

I am using this email for class communication. If you'd like me to use something else, please let me know. This email is going to all parents and students in Video Production 2.

Assignment #1: Finish up Words Project. Please put in Turn In folder. I have extended the deadline.

Due: Wednesday, March 18, 8am.

This may be a problem. If your project was on a school computer, email me. I will allow you to finish when we return to school. If you do not have a computer or editing software, email me. I will go to plan B.
