October 16th: College Day at PVHS

Schedule by grade at a glance
 
Freshmen: Period 1a will begin in the Gym @ 10:15am. All freshmen should arrive at the gymnasium no later than 10:15am for a special assembly presented by the PVHS Counseling Team.
 
Sophomores: YouScience Assessment begins @ 9:30am. Sophomores should arrive no later than 9:30am and go directly to their assigned classroom. Classroom assignments will be emailed and will also be posted on campus. The YouScience Assessment is free of charge; please see letter with information about the YouScience aptitude assessment on our website: pvhs.pvpusd.net FYI: Sophomores will take the PreACT at the beginning of the Spring Semester 2020. 
 
Juniors: PSAT/NMSQT testing begins promptly @ 8:00am - There will be NO LATE SEATING for this test, so please arrive on campus by 7:45 with #2 pencils and approved calculators and go directly to your assigned classroom. Classroom assignments will be emailed and will be posted on campus. This test is free of charge thanks to the PVHS Boosters & the PVHS PTSA. There is no need to register with the CollegeBoard for the PSAT as the entire class will take this exam.
 
Seniors: Pd. 1a begins in the MPR @ 10:15am. All seniors should arrive at the MPR no later than 10:15am for a special assembly presented by David Reynaldo of CollegeZoom! The importance of the Activities Section for college applications, as well as Supplemental Essays will be discussed and examples given of how best to approach and make the most of these areas of your application. TWO lucky seniors who arrive by 10:15am will be eligible to have either their UC Personal Insight Questions or their Common App Essay reviewed by an admissions representative from a highly selective university… YOU HAVE TO BE IN IT TO WIN IT! Arrive by 10:15am to put your name in the raffle and you must remain in attendance for the drawing at 11:30am in order to win this great opportunity for essay review/feedback. Good luck Class of 2020!
