PTSA President’s Welcome

Greetings Sea King families:

Welcome to the 2022-2023 academic school year!

Whether you are new to high school or a returning Sea King, we all share the varied and mixed emotions of starting the school year after yet another year that looked different from those past.  We begin the year hopeful that this is the year we get back to “normal,” but trepidatious that COVID may once again change things at any given moment.  The good news is that our new “normal” may not look so bad - through the pandemic, we have learned much about what really matters and how to prioritize those things. As a PTSA, we realize now more than ever how important it is to stay true to our mission. Take heart and enjoy peace of mind knowing that the PVHS PTSA is here to serve our Sea King community by providing support to our school, our children and one another.

For our 9th grade families, entering high school is both daunting and exciting under the best of circumstances.  A special welcome to you! If you are a "seasoned" Sea King family, I know that you are as excited as we are to be starting the school year up again. As you navigate academics and athletics, the arts, and after-school activities, all students and their families can count on PTSA for the support you need.

Please plan on attending our PTSA Association meetings held on the fourth Tuesday of the month, starting with our first meeting on September 27, 2022.  More information will be emailed directly to PTSA members regarding meetings. Also, be on the lookout for other exciting PTSA- sponsored events new this year, like our book club and coffee chats. We look forward to you joining us!

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!  Parent donations are the primary source of funding for our PVHS PTSA.  Each year, through your generous support, the PTSA helps provide outstanding programs and events that enhance our children’s learning experience for all our Sea Kings!  As we continue from year to year, we would like to continue to do so.  Here's just an idea of what your donations fund at PVHS:at PVHS:

As we embark on this new year as your PTSA President and Vice President, we are looking forward to continuing the working partnership we have established with the Board of Education, administration, our amazing teachers, and our invaluable Staff to provide an excellent learning experience for our children. We will also be working hard to honor the loss of our former President, Trisha Paddock, who we lost so unexpectedly last year.

In addition to supporting the PTSA through your membership and donations, there are many opportunities to volunteer for PTSA- sponsored events.  I encourage every one of you to become a part of our team.  The number one reason to join the PTSA is to benefit the children and with your involvement we can provide a wide array of enrichment opportunities for all students.  In doing so, you also help us.  We want you on PTSA – we need you on PTSA.

Please let us know where you would like to help by completing the interest finder in the registration packet or contact us via email at the addresses below.  By becoming a PTSA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.  By getting involved, you’ll be part of the solution, helping to make positive change and PTSA functions provide opportunities to meet other parents and teachers thereby making us stronger together.

By supporting the PTSA you are part of a forum for exchanging ideas and attending the PTSA Association meetings throughout the year to make suggestions and provide your input.  Your membership is important!
Please join us in supporting the students, faculty, and administration of PVHS.  It’s an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use, for a good cause.  We are Sea Kings riding the 2022-2023 wave!
